MT Meyer Studio FAQ
Q: Can a build be commissioned?
A: Yes, any subject can be commissioned for your collection. This is not limited to science fiction subjects.
Q: How do I commission a subject?
A: Send me an email including information about the subject you would like built. The more information that is provided is best in ascertaining the cost of the project.
Q: Do you also build from scratch or just kits?
A: Any subject not available in kit form or if a subject is needed larger than any kit offering one can be sculpted from scratch.
Q: Can you add lighting?
A: Yes lighting can be added to most subjects. I specialize in complex lighting of kits that were not designed with that in mind. Many such examples can be seen in the project gallery.
Q: How much is needed in order to start a project?
A: I charge 50% the total project cost for all scratch builds. If a kit is being built and I am providing the kit I require 100% of the kit cost in addition to the project down payment. For higher cost builds this can be divided into 3 to 4 payments over the duration of the build. Typically this can be 3 payments for projects that are between $5,000 and $10,000, and 4 payments for builds over $10,000. Shipping charges are added to the final billing and not included in the project quote. If projects are to be shipped overseas 100% of the estimated shipping cost must also be paid with initial down payment.
Q: How do I make payments to you?
A: I prefer for all billing and payments to be made via PayPal for the best records of the transactions.
Q: How soon will I get my project?
A: Each project can vary greatly. I provide an expected delivery date at the time of the initial quote. However this is still dependent on the current working schedule. Large projects can be 3 to 6 months and kit builds are typically within 30 to 60 days of commissioning the subject.
Note: Once a project has been commissioned and down payment made there is no refunding of cost associated with the build if cancelled. This secures the cost of materials, research, and designs. Any payments made in excess of the down payment or any cost that can be recovered from the cancelled project will be refunded.
